Mini Symposium on "Gender and Equality in Science"

The RTG 2175, the GSNLMU and the SFB 870 are jointly hosting a Mini Symposium on"Gender and Equality in Science".
This symposium will focus on gender related issues in the perception and evaluation of scientific excellence, as well as on gender perspective in research. The first keynote speaker Prof. Londa Schiebinger will talk about the peer-reviewed "Gendered Innovations" project.
Gendered Innovations harness the creative power of sex and gender analysis for innovation and discovery. The second keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Thomas Hinz will focus in his talk on "Recruitment Processes in Academia as Tournaments: When Gender Counts".
Furthermore, participants are invited to contribute to open discussions in five round tables on three gender related topics.
