Die BIOTOPIA Veranstaltungsreihe ÜBER:LEBEN ist zurück – diesmal mit einer Präsenzveranstaltung über die Folgen des Klimawandels für unsere Gesundheit. Wissenschaftskommunikator Harald Lesch begrüßt dazu Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann, international führende Umweltmedizinerin sowie Katja Trippel, Wissenschaftsjournalistin und Autorin.

Hitzekollaps, Ambrosia-Asthma, Tigermücken und Corona – die Auswirkungen der globalen Klima- und Umweltkrise betreffen immer deutlicher nicht nur unser Wetter oder unsere Wälder, sondern ganz unmittelbar auch unsere Gesundheit, körperlich wie seelisch.

Darum geht es im Buch „Überhitzt“, das im Mai dieses Jahres erschienen ist. Die Autorinnen Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann und Katja Trippel sprechen darin mit Expert*innen und Vordenker*innen, die nach Wegen suchen, wie wir uns wappnen können. Sie zeigen umfassend die gesundheitlichen Folgen des Klimawandels in unseren Breitengraden auf, schildern Ursachen und Symptome und suchen die Antwort auf die Frage, wie wir auch im Alter noch ein lebenswertes Leben führen können. Denn: wir haben keine Zeit zu verlieren! Unser Wohl hängt ab vom Wohl des Planeten. Die beiden Autorinnen sprechen an diesem Abend mit Wissenschaftskommunikator und Astrophysiker Harald Lesch über diese und weitere spannende Themen.

Die Veranstaltung findet am 30.10.2021 um 19:00 im Hubertussaal, Schloss Nymphenburg, statt. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos.

The BIOTOPIA event series ESCAPING EXTINCTION is back - this time with a German-speaking in-person event on the consequences of climate change for our health. Science communicator Harald Lesch welcomes Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann, leading international environmental physician, and Katja Trippel, science journalist and author.

Heat exhaustion, ragweed asthma, tiger mosquitoes and corona - the effects of the global climate and the environmental crisis are increasingly affecting not only our weather and our forests, but also have very direct effects on our health, both physical and mental.

This is the subject of the book "Überhitzt," which was published in May of this year. Authors Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann and Katja Trippel talk to experts and thought leaders who are looking for ways to counteract these effects. They comprehensively show the health consequences of climate change in our latitudes, describe causes and symptoms, and seek answers to the question of how we can still lead a life worth living in old age. After all, we have no time to lose! Our well-being depends on the well-being of the planet. At this event, the two authors will talk about many of these topics with science communicator and astrophysicist Harald Lesch.
